According to the Georgia State Patrol report, Sheyanne Wynter Peacock (age 21) of Eastman and her two children were in her 2001 Lincoln LS driving south on Georgia 87 (Abbeville Highway) near the intersection of Edna Moore Road.
Peacock was negotiating a curve and began to hydroplane on the wet roadway, spinning around backwards and into the northbound lane. Her vehicle struck a 2015 Hyundai Sonata SE that was headed north on Georgia 87 and was driven by Jesse Charles Beauford (age 61) of Dublin.
Peacock’s vehicle then traveled backwards off the east shoulder into the ditch and struck a tree in the rear.
Dodge County Coroner Joe Smith pronounced Peacock dead at the scene.
Her two children, Ashton B. Peacock (age 5) and his sister Marleay Peacock (age 2), were both transported by ambulance to Dodge County Hospital and then to the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
Beauford was also taken to Dodge County Hospital by law enforcement.
