The Heart of Georgia United Way recognizes an individual as their Volunteer of the Quarter. Spencer Smith of Eastman was selected for the fourth quarter, 2014.Smith is a member of the governing board of directors and a member of the Friends of CASA in Dodge County. Friends of CASA is the advisory board with a primary function of public awareness and fundraising. CASA has several different Friends of CASA groups with each serving in the community where they are located.
Smith was instrumental in the recent fundraiser held in Eastman. The annual Daddy Daughter Dance was held February 7, with all proceeds benefiting the agency.
He worked tirelessly helping to promote and plan this annual event to make sure that it was a success. The 2015 Daddy Daughter Dance was the most attended dance to date, with over 500 people in attendance. All of Smith’s hard work, expertise and dedication truly help to make the event one to remember.
Heart of Georgia United Way is so thankful to Smith for all that he does for TLC CASA, not only in the Dodge County community, but for the agency as a whole.
