The Eastman Rotary Club held its annual Dodge County Farmer of the Year Award dinner recently at the Sidetrack Café. The Rotary Club honors a Dodge County farmer each year with recognition for outstanding farm operation. The 2015 Farmer of the Year was awarded to Tom Cranford. The Cranford farm is located on the Soperton Highway in Dodge County. Cranford said, “I would like to thank the Rotary Club, especially its Farmer of the Year Committee. As the Ag Teacher at Dodge County High School, I try to promote agriculture on a daily basis. So, I really appreciate Rotary’s support of agriculture and the family way of life.” Gary Black, Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture, was the guest speaker for the dinner.
